Whilst this is excellent news, better still is the number of women becoming increasingly involved in the distilling businesses. Confounding the common stereotype of bearded male whisky swillers, and black-tie brandy drinkers, we meet a new generation of young females forging pioneering careers in the alcohol industry.
These women are advocates for small-batch craft production. In many cases they are at the forefront of developing and practicing innovative new methods of production and distribution.
