Great Lives BBC Radio 4

From Caligula to Kenny Everett, Matthew Parris has run a beady eye over famous lives to see if they merit the tag of ‘greatness’. At Food Connections, Countryfile presenter John Craven proposes the life of the Victorian Engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, for the Great Lives treatment. In the company of an expert biographer the two will discuss Brunel’s life and career, much of it still visible in Bristol today, to see if this creator of great machines should be considered a great man.
