Festival of Spice

Taking place in the heart of Easton, the Spice Festival will celebrate this wonderfully diverse part of the city. In partnership with the St Marks Rd Traders Association, Food Connections will explore the subject of spice, from its use in cooking to the health benefits and more.

A demonstration stage will feature Bini Ludlow, whose passion and charisma has made Sweet Cumin one of the leading authentic Indian cookery schools in the UK. She will be joined by Romy Gill of Romy’s Kitchen, the first ever female Indian chef-owner in the UK, plus the chefs from the Thali Café, the spice experts at The Sweet Mart, Upton Cheyney Chilli Farm, and Marti Burgess and Chris Wicks will be showing us how to make award-winning jerk chicken.

Feast on spiced up street food from around the world, learn about the history of spice and let the kids loose in the children’s area, where they will enjoy tasting workshops and painting with spices.

Booking: Free, just turn up.
