Art for Africa

Art for Africa has become an annual Bristol event run by the charity Temwa, it’s a little auction with a difference. Taking place at the Attic Bar on May 7th, the auction will feature work by renowned artists such as Toaster, Dicy, Paris, 3DOM, Paul McGowan, James Starr and Andy Council.

There will be over 70 pieces of artwork going under the hammer, from classical oil paintings to stencilled skate decks, alongside large contemporary canvases and screen prints, with estimated values ranging from £50 to £1200.

Over the last ten years, Temwa has grown and developed alongside the urban art scene, artists have become established on a world wide scale, and Temwa’s project have expanded to help thousands of people to dramatically change their lives.

Also, some of the urban art scene’s finest talents such as Toaster, Dicy, Paris, and many more will be doing some very exciting live painting on the day.

Artists involved have said;

Felix Braun “It’s a real home grown Bristol charity, its been great to watch the charity start from conception and see it grow into what it is today”

Duncan Jago “You can see where all the money raised goes, directly to support projects in Malawi, it’s amazing to be involved with”

Will Barras “It’s my favourite charity event to support, I love the work they are doing on the ground”

Funds raised from the collection will go towards our conservation projects. The projects work with the people of Malawi and offers sustainable and community-generated solutions to an interrelated set of challenges which includes deforestation, changeable river flows, land degradation, climate shocks, food insecurity and poverty.
