Food Connections Presents: Honeyfeet

Each night of the Bank Holiday Weekend, Food Connections will be bringing you an evening of live music from College Green.

Sunday’s headliners are Honeyfeet. Manchester’s finest ethio-trad, folk-hop & barrelhouse-pop exponents have the skill, charm and (frankly) tunes to pull it all together into a joyful, foot-banging sound. Evoking the afro-funk of Mulatu Atstake, the exuberant folk of Flook, and the blues of Junior Wells without ever sounding contrived or unoriginal, Honeyfeet have in Ríoghnach Connolly one of the most striking frontwomen on the scene at the moment

“Seldom has conspicuous greatness been more accessible” – Mike Butler, City Life.

They’ll be supported by Boudica Boogaloo - three sweet old gals, three dirty harmonies, three stomping sets of strings and a hell of a good old-time! Boudica Boogaloo is a brand new sound brought to you by some of Bristol’s favourite musical gals - Nuala Honan, Claire Northey and Laura Pocket - all stunning solo musicians in their own right. The combination of their unique wealth of musical experience results in an old time Folk/Americana sound with a freshness that is a surprise and a delight. This show is not to be missed!
