Where Venison Comes from

Meet Ashton Court’s rangers for an informative talk in the deer park to learn how they humanely and organically manage herds at Ashton Court and produce venison in the process.

There are two deer parks in the Estate; one park for Red deer, the other, on the estate’s Western side, for the more timid Fallow deer. There is also at least one other wild species of deer in Ashton Court, the Roe Deer.

Attendees will learn the difference between farmed herds and amenity herds, and the different methods used by rangers to manage both. The talk will be followed by sampling some venison products in Ashton Court’s newly redecorated Courtyard Café. The venison here comes from land that’s never seen chemicals - it doesn’t get more local, free range and pure.
