Food Connections is back and needs you!

Food Connections festival, Bristol. 3 May 2014

Food Connections is back in action and raring to go for 2015!

It may have seemed quiet at Food Connections HQ, but behind the scenes we’ve been beavering away to make 2015 even bigger and better than 2014. Yes, we know that sounds ambitious after this year’s resounding success (the festival had more visitors than Glastonbury!), but we already have a few tricks up our sleeves…

Working together

Food Connections is a partnership event. Last year, many partners came together to produce a programme of over 200 events all over the city. We’re already working with many talented partners including the BBC, Bristol City Council, Bristol University, UWE, Watershed and At-Bristol to harness a multitude of inspirational, food focused projects that already exist in the city. Please contact us if your organisation is interested in getting involved.

Going green

We are an official programme partner of Bristol 2015, European Green Capital. Sustainability and lasting change have always been at the heart of Food Connections, so this partnership makes complete sense and we can’t wait to start collaborating.

The Oscars of the food world

We’re also delighted to announce that BBC Radio 4’s prestigious Food and Farming Awards will kick Food Connections off in style on April 30, 2015. Described by Jamie Oliver as the ‘Oscars of the food world’, the awards took place in Bristol for the first time this year as part of Food Connections 2014.

A taste of things to come

The programme of events for 2015 is already creating much excitement here at Food Connections HQ. The city centre events will rival last year’s, with a huge hub on College Green hosting thought-provoking talks and bustling markets for the whole nine days of Food Connections. There’ll also be a ‘Best of the West’ producers’ market, a Grow festival and a huge food careers fair. But it’s not all about the city centre, there’ll be dozens of community events taking place all over the city and there’s still plenty of room for more ideas…

Food Connections needs you!

We all know that Bristol is an amazing city to live in, but it’s you, Bristol’s citizens, businesses and organisations that make it such a forward-thinking place. Let’s work together to put Bristol on the map as the UK’s sustainable food capital; let’s lead by example and transform our food culture and make people stand up, take notice and listen. Get involved and work with us to create a lasting shift in the way we think about and consume food. We are open to ALL ideas, the more original the better! The deadline for event ideas is 15 January.
