BBC IN THE IMAX

As part of Food Connections’ partnership with the BBC, a series of 11 free food-themed talks and live recordings will take place in the IMAX theatre at Bristol Aquarium.

Bristol Food Connections will launch with the 15th BBC Food & Farming Awards, the “Oscars of the food world”, which celebrates the best of British food and the people who grow, make and supply it.

We’ve got a brilliant programme of celebrity chefs. Join top chef and food genius Simon Hopkinson and Rick Stein will be sharing the story of their “life in food” for The Food Programme on BBC Radio 4. TV and radio presenter Adrian Chiles will be hearing inspiring tales from two extraordinary people with life-changing food stories to tell. And we’ll be discussing the life, food and legacy of Jane Grigson – the self-taught cook whose books and journalism changed British food culture.

BBC Gardeners’ World Question Time is a unique opportunity to put your questions to some of the Gardeners’ World team. Join broadcaster and children’s writer Michael Rosen on an adventure into language and food in Radio 4’s Word of Mouth programme. Tom Heap will host a debate for BBC Radio 4’s Costing the Earth asking if this election campaign has raised the issues that need discussing.

Plus, you can take a look behind the scenes of BBC TV’s Harvest and meet the team behind the show which returns to our screens this autumn.BBC Food on TV – Past, Present and Future will look at the unique place that food holds in British cultural life over the last 60 years and asks where next? And at Really Wild Food, naturalist Mike Dilger and the BBC Natural History Unit share their weird and wonderful tales of eating on location.
