Bristol Food Connections festival is a citywide celebration of food of epic proportions.
From 12th – 23rd June 2019, residents and visitors alike will be taken on a journey of exploration and discovery of all that is GREAT about food in Bristol (and beyond) through a cornucopia of events that are sure to tantalise and tempt, educate and enlighten.
It’s a week when food takes over the city, and we shine a light on all the great people, businesses and organisations that make Bristol’s food culture so uniquely independent and creative – celebrating every aspect of the journey of food – from field to fork.
Food Connections first took place in 2014 and ran in both subsequent years. The BBC Food and Farming Awards have been proudly hosted in Bristol since 2013, and from 2014-16 were the launch event of Bristol Food Connections, attracting UK-wide coverage on TV, radio and online and some of the biggest names in the UK food world to the city.
In 2017, the team behind the festival became an organisation in our own right and Bristol Food Connections, CIC was born. Meet the team here. We’d all like to offer a massive thanks to Bristol Food Network for hosting the event from 2014 to 2017.
2018 has gone down as the year of community for Bristol Food Connections. By drawing the focus away from the city centre we really shone the spotlight on Bristol’s diverse food culture and the people behind it. We had a dizzying array of events in every corner of the city and beyond, with some really creative interpretations of the year’s theme: TIME.
This year promises to stay true to everything that has made the festival such a roaring success in the past, with just a little bit extra. Join us on the journey as we celebrate all gastronomic delights, in every which way.
