First Great Western Producers Market

Food Connections festival, Bristol. 3 May 2014

Shop till you drop at the First Great Western Producers Market in The Amphitheatre. Sixty producers from all over the South West will come together to form a showstopping market. Buy delicious produce directly from the growers and makers and pick up tips, ideas and enthusiasm as you explore new flavours and stock up on the very best ingredients the region has to offer. See below for a full list of traders.

The Amphitheatre already has a distinctly European and romantic feel to it, with its broad flagstones and perspective onto the Harbour. This beautiful setting will be host to the Producers Market and a very special three-day Garden Party.

First Great Western recently replaced 50 products on their menu with those from specialist producers within 15miles of their railway lines so it is entirely fitting that they have sponsored the area. The sponsorship money is being used to bring the cost of a stall at the Producers Market down, making it more affordable for small, local producers to attend. The team from First Great Western will also be there showcasing the wonderful local produce already on offer on the trains, and they will also be looking to sign up the next 50 local products to use on their menus.

The range of produce on offer is astounding and each trader is present because of the love they have for what they do, which you can taste in their food. Buy delicious produce directly from the growers and makers and pick up tips, ideas and enthusiasm as you explore new flavours and stock up on the very best ingredients the region has to offer.
Locally brewed craft ales and cider will whet your appetite for the cheese, charcuterie, preserves and bread stalls. Hand made chocolates and a range of indulgent cakes will satisfy sweet tooths for dessert.

After all the shopping and chatting with our lovely traders you will need a place to relax so handy that you can chill out at our Garden Party. Cream teas, juices and ice cream will be on offer as you sit down and enjoy performances from acoustic musicians and theatre acts. Masseurs will also be circulating in the area if you need a back rub. Once you have regained energy, hula a hula-hoop or chat to our veg man about his pop up allotment.

Date: Saturday, May 3 to Monday, May 5 10am - 6pm
