In late 1979 Mike and his Dutch girlfriend Loes were both working at the European Space Technology Centre in Noordwijk. Sharing a love of healthy, macrobiotic food and aspiring to work in a more environmentally sound and sustainable field, Mike and Loes made an offer on a natural food store in Bristol. With the business successfully established, attention turned to educating others on the wonders of wholefoods, supplements and healthy living. From early 2013, Mike has been running a series of lectures with selected nutritionists and therapists on various aspects of nutrition and healthy living.
