Tastes in the Wild

Come foraging and explore natural foods that can be sourced locally, plus learn how to light, manage and cook on a woodland fire.

You will get a better understanding of edible (and inedible) local plants, helping you build an appreciation of nature’s larder. Foraging explores many important issues of sustainability. Attendees will consider the conservation of species and their habitats, learning what to take and what to leave. During this workshop you will explore Bristol’s iconic Arnos Vale cemetery, learning to create good food from scratch. Your cooking will have an especially low carbon footprint, as the wood used for the fire will be scavenged on site. Learning to build and cook on an open wood fire is a great experience - everything tastes better cooked on an open fire! This event is suitable for beginner foragers and those interested in wild food foraging.

Tickets: £21.50

Originally established in 1839 Arnos Vale is one of the earliest, best and the only known fully restored examples of a Victorian “Arcadian” garden cemetery in the UK, and a special and uniquely Bristolian location.
