How Music Affects Flavour + Glittermouth Live

An interactive flavourful lecture on how music affects flavour, using EEG brain scanners, anti-anxiety tea and the world’s rarest chocolate.

Followed by a live performance of Understory’s forthcoming musical chocolate bar ‘Glittermouth’.

The chocolate bar comes with an audio story about a musician who tastes melodies, a full E.P and gig poster. The chocolate is the first mascarpone chocolate bar, made with the world’s rarest cacao beans.

We will perform the E.P live, with tasters of the bar for the audience.

At Understory we research food, write about food and cook food. We combine the two great oral traditions, of storytelling and eating, as our creative practise.

We are a bunch of misfits, poets, scientists and gluttons who blend our favourite flavours and tall tales into tasty treats. To create meaningful art requires knowledge of your chosen medium. We are working to understand and experiment with the science behind food and it’s social relevance so that we can constantly push our work in new directions.
