Growing the Growers - Communication and Wellbeing on the Land

Getting together with others to grow food and manage land? Want ideas on how to keep your relationships healthy when the going gets tough? This session is for you.

How do four twenty-somethings fare when they quit the city to go off and start a market garden business in remotest Gloucestershire? Personal relationships can be a challenging aspect of running a community garden, CSA or farm. This session tells the story of the Ragman’s market garden team who invested time in communication skills, to support their business.

This interactive session will give you lots of ideas to take away, and a chance to speak to the gardeners about their experience of trying to run a business and stay friends while doing it! Ragman’s Lane Market Garden is a thriving small vegetable-growing business entering its third growing season. It is based in Gloucestershire’s beautiful Forest of Dean. The market garden emphasis is on growing high-value crops and obtaining large yields from a relatively small area, while working in a manner that protects and enhances the soil.

This event is part of Feed Bristol’s Growing with Nature day. Free workshop, register on arrival at Feed Bristol.
