Foraging for food, dyes and medicines with Flora Arbuthnott

Come for a foraging walk around Bristol, learning what natural food, dyes and medicines we can find growing around us. From cracks in the pavement, to hedgerows, wild edges of paths, and river sides, discover the abundance around the city.

This will give you a fresh way of reading the landscape and new insight in to the city. I will bring samples to show you what colours can be produced from plants, and give you an overview of simple natural dye extraction processes you can try at home. You can learn how to create beautiful textile designs using 100% natural materials. By identifying, growing, and using locally abundant natural dye plants for our own creative textile projects, we can connect more closely to where our clothes and textiles come from, and become a part of the natural systems we live within.

£18 per person, £14 concessions. Also open to skill swaps and exchanges.
